Rochdale is ambitious in its plans to support children and young people with SEND.
Over the last 2 years we have been on a co-design journey with children and families and have developed a set of clear outcomes for Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). We have made a set of strong commitments which can be found in 5 year SEND Strategy.
We are now ready to move forward with our second phase of team development and would like to appoint a Designated Education Officer to support us on this journey. With a strong education background in a leadership capacity, the post holder will be passionate around supporting children and families early and via a graduated approach. The post holder will lead on the development of a new consistent model of SEN support, whole school and system approach to SEND training and quality assurance. The post holder will be confident in working across the system and have an ability to build strong relationships with schools and colleges.
Rochdale has a relational approach, we are proud about our culture and partnerships. We are pioneering in making a difference for children and families and leading the way for SEND. We are looking for an individual with the right skill mix, experience and passion to bring our strategy into reality. You must be ambitious for our children and have a commitment to working hard to support them in reaching their full potential.
The post holder will manage a Programme of Quality Assurance in relation to SEND Inspection readiness and capture several deliverables against the SEND ‘I’ Statements.
Working alongside the Head of SEND and Designated Officers for Health, Social Care and Complex Needs. The post holder will be organized and work across a range of stakeholders to review and collate quantity (how much did we do?) quality (how well did we do it?) and impact (what difference did it make?)
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a programme which will truly capture the lived experience of children and families with SEND.
