We have recently had some movement within the councils Strategic Housing department resulting in a vacancy for a Temporary Accommodation & Move on Manager for the authority’s statutory Temporary Accommodation Service for single homelessness households, Leopold Court.
We require and are looking for an individual who is passionate about the real-life difference that homelessness provision makes in our community and you will want to be a pro-active part of our service achieving that aim. To help contribute towards our vision for excellent Housing and support services within the Borough.
You will need to have an outstanding track record and experience in dealing with rough sleepers and individuals with multiple needs and able to work with challenging behaviour, assisting and motivating individuals to access move on accommodation and make use of complimentary support opportunities.
You will be required to work flexibly reflecting the needs of the Service, and excellent in building and maintaining relevant relationships.
You will also need to act in accordance with our statutory and mandatory Homelessness duties, as per the Housing and Homelessness prevention legislation; 1996 Housing Act part VII, 2018 Homelessness Code of Guidance for local authorities, 2018 Homelessness Reduction Act. Along with responsibility for Health and Safety, Housing benefit, and rental income. Theo post will be responsible the day to day supervision and motivation of all staff allocated to the specified work stream and Team.
You will relish the challenge of engaging with colleagues, residents, landlord, tenants, customers and third sector partners.
You will work within People functions of Strategic Housing, as well as supporting wider teams within the Strategic Housing Service and wider Council. Lead with other managers to ensure the resilience of the Service in response to internal and external audits, inspections and any other forms of external scrutiny, and to prepare for and participate in these exercises as necessary.
