The Headteacher and Governors of St Gabriel’s RC Primary School are looking to appoint a hardworking and committed Site Manager. The successful candidate will be able to show initiative, take a pride in their work and the condition of the buildings and grounds. They must be hard working, reliable, flexible and able to interact positively with children, their families, staff and visitors in order to uphold the ethos, aims and values of the school .

 

The ability to plan and undertake repairs and general maintenance to a high standard is essential. Experience of working in site management / maintenance / trades is desirable.

 

The successful applicant will:

  • Be responsible for the maintenance, security and facilities management of the school premises and site.
  • Be responsible for supervision of the school cleaner
  • Manage the opening and closing of school
  • Organise and carry out various maintenance repairs to ensure the general up keep and maintenance of the premises within own skill level
  • Liaise with external contractors and arrange rountine inspection visits as required
  • Be responsible for keeping the school grounds clean and tidy
  • Undertake regular inspections of equipment and facilities
  • Perform weekly/monthly tests on fire alarm and emergency lighting
  • Take responsibility for security and health & safety of the school premises
  • Be flexible for the needs of the children and the school
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with all members of staff, parents, pupils and other agencies
  • Have the ability to plan their own work schedule and the schedule of the school cleaner
  • Have the awareness of confidentiality and child protection/safeguarding
  • Have the ability to identify own training and development needs and a commitment to undertake relevant training to address these

Annual leave entitlement will be taken during school holiday periods and the hours of this post will be worked over a split shift, 6.30am – 10.30am and 2.30pm – 6pm (Mon – Thurs), 6.30am – 10.00am and 2.30pm -6pm (Friday).
