Newhouse Academy is a comprehensive secondary school, situated just off the M60 in the town of Heywood. We have a new Headteacher, a modern building, excellent learning facilities and improving GCSE results across many subjects.

 

As part of the Hollingworth Learning Trust, we work closely with our partner school, Hollingworth Academy, (an outstanding local secondary school); and are on a school improvement journey to deliver rising academic standards. Newhouse Academy has been chosen as one of 50 schools to receive national Government funding for building development which will see further improvements to our academy for September 2022.

 

We are recruiting a Head of Year to join a dedicated and talented pastoral team and are looking for candidates who:

 

· Have previous experience as a Head of Year or 3 years pastoral experience, working in an educational setting

· Will encourage students to have high expectations of themselves in their learning, attendance and behaviour

· Can demonstrate a flexible approach to their duties

· Are confident and proactive

· Have excellent organisational skills

· Have values in line with the academy priorities of Aspiration, Integrity and Respect

37 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days.

Monday to Friday, 08:00am to 3.54pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Grade:

NJC scale points 23 to 30 (dependant on experience)

£27,741 - £33,782 pro rata, actual salary £24,006 - £29,235

Progression through the pay scale is subject to annual performance related pay.

From September 2021 onwards, or sooner by agreement.
