A leading local authority has an exciting opportunity and requirement for a temporary fixed-term Project Support Officer, responsible for supporting the project to migrate the employer’s users and clients from the existing operating system (Windows 7) to the new Windows 10 platform. The employer is looking for a candidate that is proactive with a positive attitude.
The suitable candidate will be part of a successful ICT Team based at the local authority’s new award winning state of the art office building. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and have a strong track record of supporting projects.
The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies, techniques and their application to ensure projects deliver expected benefits and achieve deliverables within tight deadlines and a fast paced environment.
Previous experience of project support of Windows migration as part of large scale migration would be desirable.
The suitable candidate will be able to work as part of a team or on an individual basis undertaking all aspects of project and administrative support including, preparing, monitoring, and maintaining project plans against objectives, data extraction/manipulation, analysis, maintaining documentation, organising meetings, minute taking, and follow up actions.
A background in Local Government is highly desirable but not essential.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract linked to specific external funding by ICT Programme.
