Siddal Moor is an 11-16 community secondary school serving Heywood and the wider area. In 2016, Siddal Moor was the most improved school within the borough – an achievement that was well-deserved, having been brought about by the hard work and dedication of our students and staff.

From 1st September 2017, we are looking to appoint a talented teacher of History to join a dedicated team of Humanities staff.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to teach History across the whole age and ability range. If an experienced teacher, you will have a record of successful KS4 results and if a NQT, you will show commitment and passion for your subject along with a real desire to develop your teaching practice.

With amazing modern facilities and a real commitment to ensuring the very best education for our students, Siddal Moor is an exciting place to be. We place an emphasis on developing young adults who have the skills and ability to lead full, enjoyable and successful lives. We believe children should enjoy school and foster a love of learning that continues as they move on.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to this post is therefore subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring and background check.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement of this post.

The application form and further details are available to download here or may be requested from the school. Applications should be returned to ThompsonL@siddalmoor.uk. The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Friday 21st April 2017 and interviews will take place on 26th and 27th April 2017.
