Job Title: Clerk to the Trust Board

Salary: £10,000 per annum

Start Date: Immediate

 

An exciting new opportunity has arisen as clerk to the trust board of the Altus Education Partnership.

 

The Altus Education Partnership formed on 1st April 2017 and is the first sixth form college led multi academy trust. The trust was formed by Rochdale Sixth Form College, who have topped the Department for Education Performance Tables for A level progress for an unprecedented four consecutive years. The Altus Education Partnership aims to work collaboratively with primary and secondary schools to develop a family of schools within the trust and develop a shared approach to teaching and learning, quality assurance and resources.

 

The trust has a strong, highly skilled and supportive board of trustees drawn from a wide range of backgrounds. The trust is keen to appoint someone with the professional and technical skills, but also someone who fits culturally with the trust and who is rooted in the moral dimension of the continued work ahead in being ambitious for our young people, having high expectations and improving outcomes for all young people across the trust.

 

Overall Purpose of the Post

 

Provide advice, guidance and training to the trust board on governance, constitutional and procedural matters. The clerk will contribute towards the efficient
functioning the trust board and its committees by providing:

  • Administrative and organisational support.
  • Guidance to ensure that the trust board works in compliance with the appropriate legal and regulatory framework, and understands the potential consequences for noncompliance.
  • Advice on procedural matters relating to the operation of the trust board.
