Bury & Rochdale Youth Offending Service is looking to recruit two Youth Offending Workers to support the diversion of young people from crime, court and custody within Bury & Rochdale. One post will be permanent and the other will be a fixed term post for an initial 12-month period

 

The fixed term post will be focus specifically on direct work with children and young people subject to out of court disposals and victims of crime, ensuring that those directly affected are involved in the justice process and that their wishes are given careful consideration with the aim of repairing the harm caused.

 

The service is a multi-disciplinary team with key statutory partners but also with the added richness of key agencies such as drug and alcohol services and Health Young Minds working in partnership with the service.

 

Bury and Rochdale Youth Offending Service is part of the Greater Manchester Youth Justice work stream and as such is part of exciting developments such as developing Out of Court Disposal approaches and working towards a more effective and efficient youth court.

 

Locally we are developing the early intervention and prevention service to children and young people to ensure we are working with those at risk of offending at the earliest opportunity.

 

We are looking for somebody with the appropriate level of knowledge around Youth Justice to come and join our service to continue to help us develop a good Youth Offending Service.
