In accordance with Section 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 this post requires the ability to converse at ease with the members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.


Rochdale Borough Council is seeking to appoint a Coroner’s Administration Assistant on a temporary contract, to support the Coroner’s back office processes and to occasionally assist with ushering in inquest courts. You will be a highly motivated and disciplined person capable of working in a high pressured environment with continually changing priorities. You will be dealing with a range of medical professionals, police staff and communicating with bereaved families who are likely to be highly emotional and vulnerable so your communication skills need to be excellent and professional. Training will be provided but you will be required to work on your own initiative quickly with minimal training to support the Coroners service.

This is a temporary position for approximately 9 months.
