The RBC Information Governance Team is responsible for managing information requests made to the Council including freedom of information requests, subject access requests and other data protection/GDPR requests.  Our customers include members of the public, businesses, councillors, colleagues within the Council and staff from a number of partner agencies.

 

The Triage Officer role is responsible for providing a general administrative support function to the team and for keeping oversight of all live requests by using the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and following outlined processes to log, assign and monitor the progress of team activities.

 

The Triage Officer will also undertake actions where possible to satisfactorily resolve requests at this first point of contact. 

 

Key tasks would include:

 

  • Monitoring the Information Governance and Freedom of Information Mailboxes.
  • Logging new information requests upon the CRM system.
  • Managing and maintaining the CRM system to ensure processes are followed and activities/progress on requests can be evidenced.
  • Providing responses for customers when requests have been resolved.
  • Signposting customers to information already in the public domain e.g. documents already published on the Council website or elsewhere which would potentially resolve a request at the first point of contact.

 

Prior knowledge or experience of Information Governance and Data Protection is not essential as on the job training on these topics will be provided.

 

This is a temporary contract for 6 months in the first instance.
