IT Technician

Required as soon as possible

36 ¼ hours per week, All Year Round

This is a 2 year Fixed Term Contract linked to SLA funding.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Technician to work within Wardle Trust’s IT department. The role involves providing 1st and 2nd line IT support for all Wardle Trust partner academies. You will provide day to day desktop support, hardware support, troubleshooting and be involved in larger projects.

 

The ideal candidate will have some experience of modern Microsoft Windows operating systems such as Windows 10, a basic understanding of security technologies, i.e. Anti-Virus, Firewalls and internet security, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2013 and Windows 7. The products you will be supporting are mostly Microsoft however, you will also be expected to support solutions from many other software and hardware vendors.

 

The successful candidate will have experience working within a similar IT background (i.e. schools, colleges, universities) although this is not essential, and be looking to progress and develop your skills in a wide variety of IT areas. Your main responsibilities will be to provide effective support, installation, configuration and maintenance of the IT system, software, hardware and infrastructure as well as data security. You will work under the supervision of the IT Manager and Assistant IT Manager and be required to consistently work to a very high and standard.

 

The successful candidate will:

· Have creativity and imagination

· Have good interpersonal, communication and customer care skills

· Keep up to date with advances in computer technology and how this affects the business environment

· Enjoy problem solving and have a very logical thought process

· Be adaptable and be able to pick up new techniques

· Be able to use their own initiative in a demanding interactive school environment

· Have a genuine interest in IT
