Here at Rochdale, we have ambitious plans for growth and investment in our Borough and recognise the important role that our heritage assets play in support of this. In recent years we have worked closely with the HLF to secure THI and HAZ grants to support ambitious projects in Rochdale and Middleton and have worked with a range of developers to promote investment and restoration of a number of important heritage assets.
We now have an opportunity for an experienced Conservation Officer to join our team and continue this great work and are prepared to appoint at the top of the scale to find the right candidate.
Working in our Development Management and Conservation Project team, you will provide high quality and timely advice which supports our aspirations to attract growth and investment and to deliver a commercially focused, business minded service to developers and investors. You will also play a leading role in preparing and submitting bids and managing heritage projects and grant awards.
We are therefore looking for someone with excellent working knowledge of legislation, policy and best practice relating to the promotion of conservation and heritage development and enforcement and who has an ability to apply policy positively and creatively to help promote investment. You will also be a team player with experience of Member and community engagement.
The position is permanent with a competitive salary and opportunities to get involved in a range of exciting regionally significant heritage projects. Rochdale is also a great place to live and work, with new offices at the heart of Rochdale Town Centre and only a short distance from Manchester City Centre, the Pennines and Peak District National Park.
