Rochdale Borough Council has ambitious plans for growth and investment. Work is well under way on the £400m transformation of Rochdale town centre and our wider regeneration strategy includes the delivery of more than 10,000 new homes, with a focus on town centre living and new provision close to our key transport hubs.
To help us deliver these ambitions, we are looking to recruit a Senior Planning Officer to lead discussions and act as case officer for a range of major projects. You will have experience gained in either the public or private sector and a successful track record of leading projects through the planning system to deliver high quality sustainable developments. A positive can-do attitude and passion for quality will also be important, as we continue our strong commercial focus and strive to secure high quality design. This role offers you the opportunity to play a leading role in shaping major developments within a supportive and friendly team environment. You will have excellent communication skills to support your work with our customers and up to date technical knowledge.
If you think you’d be a good fit, we’d love to hear from you. In return, we can offer you the chance to thrive in a supportive and friendly team, with opportunities for further training and development. You’ll enjoy a generous annual leave entitlement, access to the local government pension scheme and flexible working arrangements. Additional benefits include subsidised gym membership and access to our employee assistance programme to promote health and well-being.
If you are up for the challenge and can contribute positively to the Council’s growth agenda, we would like to hear from you. For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Emma Heron (Interim Development Manager) on 01706 925824 or Alison Truman (Interim Development Manager) on 01706 924334.
