Casual Bar Staff
Hospitality

Job ref:  RO-30486

Location:  Rochdale Town Hall, The Esplanade, Rochdale OL16 1AB

Salary:  £9 per hour

Grade:  1

Working hours: As and when required to cover events and meet the needs of the service

Contract type:   Casual

Closing date:  28th July 2019

Interview date:  8th August 2019

External candidates applying for this role must be a Rochdale Resident who lives within the municipal boundaries of the Borough of Rochdale.

Rochdale Town Hall is a growing business with big plans for the future!

The town hall is already famed for hosting top-class events from Gin Festival to award dinners and comic conventions and everything in between - but we’re working to make this stunning, Grade-I Listed building the number one choice for events in North Manchester. The beautiful surroundings are also home to the newly-refurbished Clock Tower Dining Room – a popular lunch spot aiming to become the go-to restaurant for diners in Rochdale town centre.

To help us achieve our goals and support an ever increasing number of events, we’re looking for candidates to become part of our team of casual bar staff. You’ll become an integral part of the team, regularly working alongside our bar team leaders, waiting/serving staff and our event managers to ensure the bar is always ready to accommodate up to 350 people at weddings, dinners, award evenings and much more.

Ideally, you’ll have previous experience of working in a busy bar and running busy services. Rochdale Town Hall’s core business is during the working week but, thanks to a growing demand, our business is open throughout the whole week and you’ll have the flexibility to work shifts that reflect this. You’ll need an understanding and respect for the relationship between the bar, kitchen and the front-of-house teams, ensuring that this vital link is effective and ensures the customer always receives the best possible service. A 5-star hygiene rating is important to us, so you’ll need to be familiar with the required health and safety standards and be able to effectively manage stock to reduce wastage while ensuring the bar is always ready to go.

So what do you get in return? Well we will work with you to help develop your skills and will provide a work environment that encourages and motivates. You’ll receive generous pay as well as a local authority pension, a holiday allowance and a share of customer tips.

If you sound like our ideal candidate, apply today! We look forward to hearing from you.
