Social Worker - Children's Social Care
Children's Services

Children’s Social Workers, up to £38,052

We are looking to recruit social workers with a mixture of experience and a genuine passion for working directly with children, young people and their families to improve outcomes across Rochdale.

Our success is underpinned by passionate, skilled and empathetic social work teams at the forefront of strengthening families through intervention based practice. As well as working in an environment where staff health and wellbeing is important, your caseloads will be Ofsted-recognised as being manageable and appropriate, giving you time to focus on the children and families that need your help.

We believe that our staff are our most valuable asset. We offer reflective supervision, a commitment to good home/work life balance, comprehensive training and career development opportunities.

You would be joining our service at an exciting time; our staff and managers have co-designed a new workforce development programme to promote intervention-led practice across the whole service in 2017/2018.

We have organised our service to follow a child’s journey and this includes having an effective early help and safeguarding Hub at the point of entry, first response teams,  dedicated court and child protection teams as well as an integrated cared for children service. We are committed to supporting our staff in their continuous professional development and we will work with you to ensure you are placed in the best team to meet your skills and preferences.

Rochdale is at the cutting edge of service redesign, where professionals from every agency share information, expertise and work together to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children and young people in the borough.

Our child sexual exploitation innovation programme is just one part of an award-winning partnership in tackling CSE and Ofsted has recognised both our strengths as a learning organisation and our commitment to improving the service at every level.

If you would like to know more about how we will support and work with you, please contact Helen Delamare, 01706 922336, Helen.Delamare@rochdale.gov.uk or Pamela Wharton, 01706 925096, Pamela.Wharton2@rochdale.gov.uk .
