The Property and Highways Service requires an experienced Project Manager to join a small project management team. 

 

The post holder will be responsible for the project management of predominantly property related schemes or programmes such as schools and other Council properties with budgets up to £2m each - possibly more in exceptional cases.  Occasionally property management of highways schemes may be required. 

 

You will need to possess excellent communication skills, verbal and written to enable you to provide guidance and advice to council officers and technical staff.  A strong ability to engage with councillors, developers and the public will be essential to ensure projects and programmes are delivered. 

 

On smaller projects the ability to carry out design work and / or to have AutoCAD skills would be a benefit.  Previous experience in the design, repair and maintenance of property and especially schools would be an advantage.

ARMED FORCES INTERVIEW SCHEME

 

Rochdale Borough Council has Member approval to implement a proposal to guarantee an interview from ex-service personnel applicants where they meet certain qualifying criteria.

 

The aim of this proposal is to deliver the Council’s commitment to further ‘the Armed Forces Community Covenant’ to ensure that ex-armed forces personnel are not disadvantaged, when applying for job vacancies, as a result of their service. 

 

Ex-service personnel will be guaranteed an interview under the Scheme where they meet the following conditions:

They must meet the essential criteria for the post set out within the Person Specification.

The armed forces must be their last known long term employer. 

They have been looking for a job for between 6-24 months since they left the Armed Forces.
