We are seeking a motivated and skilled Desktop Team Leader to join an already established team, who will work directly under the Service Desk and Desktop Team Manager.

 

We are looking for a strong communicator and pro-active leader, with a passion for the business culture and products and providing a high degree of customer service.

 

The desktop team cover over 100 sites within the Rochdale Borough. We require a hands-on team leader with strong ITIL knowledge.  Day-to-day responsibilities will include providing support to VIP users, power users and staff, to resolve Incidents, Service requests and problems associated with End User Computers.

 

You will have the responsibility for 7 direct reports, personnel for the team and setting and monitoring team and individual KPIs, asset management, managing projects such as Refresh, liaising with external technical support and working with the Service Manager to continuously improve the Desktop Team.

 

Extensive 1st/ 2nd line support knowledge and experience

 

Managing people Skills

 

Knowledge of supporting; Windows, Videoconferencing, AV services, SCCM, Mobile devices, VIP support, MS Exchange, Active Directory, Hardware, PC Builds and knowledge of networking (DNS, DHCP)

ARMED FORCES INTERVIEW SCHEME

 

Rochdale Borough Council has  Member approval to implement a proposal to guarantee an interview from ex-service personnel applicants where they meet certain qualifying criteria.

The aim of this proposal is to deliver the Council’s commitment to further ‘the Armed Forces Community Covenant’ to ensure that ex-armed forces personnel are not disadvantaged, when applying for job vacancies, as a result of their service. 

Ex-service personnel will be guaranteed an interview under the Scheme where they meet the following conditions:

They must meet the essential criteria for the post set out within the Person Specification.

The armed forces must be their last known long term employer. 

They have been looking for a job for between 6-24 months since they left the Armed Forces.
