Rochdale Education and Learning (REAL) Trust are a registered charity and limited company established in 2002 that sits with Rochdale Borough Council. We source, broker and provide a wide range of training and professional development courses to schools both within and outside the Borough. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer to come and join our small but hard-working and dynamic team. Whilst the role is primarily a finance one you will also be expected to support the team in general administrative duties which often will involve arranging, hosting, supporting and providing a welcoming and professional training environment for a range of colleagues. If you have experience in working in a financial environment; are familiar with developing and maintaining computerised financial systems and procedures; keen to bring new ideas to an already successful and very busy local charity/business; enjoy exploring new funding streams and are able to prove your multi-tasking skills, your commitment to hard work as part of a small team and possess good inter-personal skills and a sense of humour then this could be the job for you!

ARMED FORCES INTERVIEW SCHEME

Rochdale Borough Council has Member approval to implement a proposal to guarantee an interview from ex-service personnel applicants where they meet certain qualifying criteria.
The aim of this proposal is to deliver the Council’s commitment to further ‘the Armed Forces Community Covenant’ to ensure that ex-armed forces personnel are not disadvantaged, when applying for job vacancies, as a result of their service.

Ex-service personnel will be guaranteed an interview under the Scheme where they meet the following conditions:
They must meet the essential criteria for the post set out within the Person Specification.
The armed forces must be their last known long term employer.
They have been looking for a job for between 6-24 months since they left the Armed Forces.
