Teacher of Science: Permanent Contract

We are looking for someone with drive and ambition to join our Science team at Hollingworth Academy from January 2020. We require an outstanding and inspirational practitioner who will ensure that our pupils continue to make excellent progress.

In the 2019 GCSE examinations the academy achieved great results with 67% of students achieving five or more standard passes including English and Maths, with 46% of pupils achieving strong passes. Over recent years the academy has consistently achieved a positive Progress 8. The GCSE Science results were outstanding with our pupils achieving 77% 4+ grades in Combined Science and in excess of 95% 4+ grades in each of the Separate Sciences, with 50% of those pupils achieving 7+ grades.

Hollingworth Academy is an established ‘Outstanding’ academy, with the aspiration and drive to become ‘World Class.’ In 2014 our pupils achieved excellent examination results which resulted in the Academy receiving an Education Outcomes Award from the SSAT and a Pupil Premium Award from the DFE. More recently we have been accredited as a Centre of Excellence for inclusion by IQM and were awarded ‘School of the Year’ by Skills for Business. Visitors always comment on our calm and purposeful learning environment.

We heavily invest in our staff with a wide range of professional learning opportunities, which include fully funded Masters Degrees, Teaching Leaders, PIXL and Prince’s Trust training and an extensive range of CPD opportunities throughout the year.
