This is a great opportunity to join a small, but friendly and successful team of officers, delivering a range of strategic housing projects and services for Rochdale Council.
We are looking for a driven, knowledgeable and well-rounded candidate, with a broad range of skills and abilities and a background in housing growth and development.
Rochdale Council is committed to delivering key residential development within the Rochdale Borough and this presents a significant opportunity and challenge to the Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparation of sites for suitable development, management of the full development process including procurement, negotiation and on-going monitoring of delivery and securing operational and political approval and ensuring development proposals are presented to the Council to bring schemes forward.
This post also supports other housing projects and programmes, including an ambitious Compulsory Purchase Order program, empty properties, affordable housing delivery and energy efficiency; data analysis primarily through the Council’s GIS systems; engagement with housing delivery programmes operating at a city-region level; involvement in the service’s performance and risk management frameworks; and preparation of papers, research notes and presentations in relation to the above, for a range of audiences.
The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of building and maintaining relevant relationships with housing providers, developers and land owners. With superb written and verbal communication skills, the candidate will be able to identify and respond to emerging issues and develop and deliver innovative responses and workable solutions. The ability to be proactive and intuitive is a must!
