Rochdale Adult Care is pleased to offer a number of opportunities for qualified social workers to join Adult Care Services, offering an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant and creative authority.

The post holder will be expected to be dynamic fast paced individuals, who hold the appropriate social work skills, experience and motivation to work with Adults and their carers, whilst working within timescales and deadlines to produce a high quality of work. In return you will have the opportunity to further develop and progress your social work practice and skills within a supportive and enthusiastic service, with opportunity to undertake a variety of appropriate training and development courses.

It is expected that the post holders will have some knowledge or experience of social work practice and currently working at level 8 within an Adult Care setting, using the strength based approach to assessments, support planning and offering advice and guidance to colleagues, service users and carers, as within the objectives of the Care Act 2014. Additionally, social workers are expected to promote the independence and well-being of service users and carers, utilising natural support and the voluntary sector, ensuring creativity and dynamic support planning.

The Neighbourhood Teams within Rochdale are as follow and include the various aspects of Safeguarding and Risk Assessment work carried with people over 18.

The post holder’s must be able to demonstrate an ability to travel around the Borough of Rochdale.

In accordance with Section 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 this post requires the ability to converse at ease with the members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.

Appointment to this post is subject to a enhanced DBS including a barred list check against the adult workforce
