Here in Rochdale we are innovative in how we provide social work to children with disabilities (CWD) and complex health needs.
Our CWD social work team is part of a shared service with the education, health care team, Rochdale additional needs service, educational psychologists, occupation therapy and the short break service as well as being firmly aligned with all of our other social work teams across children’s services.
Our CWD social work team cover all areas of statuary social work practice as well as the more specific work of provision of short breaks and support the education health care team. To make this work possible our CWD team is made up of a practice manager, advanced practitioner, 6 social workers and 2 social care officers.
