This is an opportunity to take on the role of Assessments & Benefits Officer reporting to the Team Leader Assessment & Benefits (Adult Care).
Revenues & Benefits is part of the overall Resources Directorate, reporting to the Director of Resources.
This is a key post within a team responsible for carrying out Financial Assessments on behalf of the Adult Care Service, for both non-residential and residential care.
You will have day-to-day responsibility for:
- Undertaking financial assessments for Adult Care service users, including where appropriate visiting service users at their place of residence.
- Carrying out benefit entitlement checks and providing advice on benefit maximisation
- Providing advice on Deferred Payments in residential assessments, where applicable
You will also be expected to contribute to delivering service improvements, for example through system developments.
You will be a good communicator able to deal effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
You will be proactive, highly motivated and committed to working as part of a team.
You will have sound IT skills, be able to work to tight deadlines and on your own initiative.
You will have a good understanding of Adult Care Financial Assessments and welfare benefits.

We will appoint at Grade 3 to Grade 5 depending on your current knowledge and experience in relation to the requirements of the job descriptions.
