An opportunity exists to join the Rochdale Borough Council/Pennine Care Foundation Trust Integrated Mental Health Service as a Social Worker based in the Criminal Justice Mental Health Team. The post holder will be working with mental health patients in the criminal justice system, who present with high levels of risk. This includes working within the requirements of public protection arrangements such as MAPPA.

 

To apply you must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England. You will have experience of working in an adult social care/mental health setting and have a good working knowledge of relevant legislation and procedural frameworks related to the Care Act 2014 and Safeguarding work. You should also be familiar with the Care Programme Approach.

Adult safeguarding and Making Safeguarding Personal is an important part of the role. You will have both an understanding of the nature and importance of safeguarding vulnerable adults and the ability to apply this in practice.

 

Key to the role is the assessment and management of complex risk, taking into account legislative frameworks. You will have the skills necessary to undertake comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessments and forensic assessments within community settings, prisons and approved premises. You will have comprehensive knowledge of the principles and application of the diversion processes within the criminal justice system.

 

The post holder will have the ability to prioritise work and meet prescribed deadlines, with skills in preparing specialist reports and presenting information verbally.

 

The post holder will be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team bringing the social care perspective including knowledge of outcome focused and holistic/strengths based practice.

 

Applicants, who are a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional, will have the opportunity to practice as part of a rota that supports those AMHPs who are based within the dedicated AMHP Hub

 

In accordance with Section 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 this post requires the ability to converse at ease with the members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.

 

Casual User Car Allowance is payable
