Salary: £27,668 to £37,306, bar at SCP40 £35,444.           

Only Adult Care Social Workers who have AMHP status and take part on the AMHP rota can be approved for progression beyond the bar point                       

Grade:  7/ 8                         

Working Hours: Full Time and Part Time

Rochdale Adult Care is pleased to offer a number of opportunities for qualified social workers to join Adult Care Services, offering an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant and creative authority.

 

The post holder will be expected to be dynamic fast paced individuals, who hold the appropriate social work skills, experience and motivation to work with Adults and their carers, whilst working within timescales and deadlines to produce a high quality of work. In return you will have the opportunity to further develop and progress your social work practice and skills within a supportive and enthusiastic service, with opportunity to undertake a variety of appropriate training and development courses.

 

It is expected that the post holders will have some knowledge or experience of social work practice within an Adult Care setting, using the strength based approach to assessments, support planning and offering advice and guidance to colleagues, service users and carers, as within the objectives of the Care Act 2014. Additionally, social workers are expected to promote the independence and well-being of service users and carers, utilising natural support and the voluntary sector, ensuring creativity and dynamic support planning.

 

The service areas within Rochdale Adult Care are as follows, which all include the various aspects of Safeguarding and Risk Assessment work carried out within the specific teams.

 

.   Integrated Neighbourhood Teams

.   Transfer of Care – Hospital Discharges

.   Specialist Services - Learning Disability, Vulnerable Adults & Younger Adults (Transition)

.   Community Mental Health Teams

 

The post holders must be able to demonstrate an ability to travel around the Borough of Rochdale.

 

This post is subject to satisfactory two year reference history, Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, medical clearance, evidence of essential qualifications and proof of legal working in accordance with Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.

 

Casual User Car Allowance is payable.

ARMED FORCES INTERVIEW SCHEME

 

Rochdale Borough Council has Member approval to implement a proposal to guarantee an interview from ex-service personnel applicants where they meet certain qualifying criteria.

 

The aim of this proposal is to deliver the Council’s commitment to further ‘the Armed Forces Community Covenant’ to ensure that ex-armed forces personnel are not disadvantaged, when applying for job vacancies, as a result of their service. 

 

Ex-service personnel will be guaranteed an interview under the Scheme where they meet the following conditions:

They must meet the essential criteria for the post set out within the Person Specification.

The armed forces must be their last known long term employer. 

They have been looking for a job for between 6-24 months since they left the Armed Forces.
