Newhouse Academy is a comprehensive secondary school, situated just off the M60 in the town of Heywood.

 

As part of the Hollingworth Learning Trust, we work closely with our partner school, Hollingworth Academy, (an outstanding local secondary school); and are on a school improvement journey to deliver rising academic standards. Newhouse Academy has been chosen as one of 50 schools to gain funding for building development. This will see a brand new build for our Science and Technology departments in the near future.

 

We have a new Headteacher, a modern building with excellent learning facilities and improving GCSE results across many subjects. We offer both Trilogy and Separate Sciences at KS4 and have subject specialists teaching across all three areas.

 

We are recruiting a Senior Science Technician to join our dedicated and talented team and are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has previous experience as a Science technician
  • Has a real desire to help our students achieve all that they can
  • Demonstrates a flexible approach to their duties
  • Is confident and proactive
  • Enjoys managing a small team and developing others
  • Has excellent organisational skills
  • Has values in line with the academy priorities of Aspiration, Integrity and Respect

The Science department is delighted to once again be undertaking practical lessons for all year groups. We are looking for someone innovative who can join the team and contribute ideas to this aspect of our curriculum. This is a pivotal role for our department and one which we hold in high esteem. You will work alongside all members of the Science team to further develop our curriculum offer and ensure we create the best environment for all learners to succeed.
