The Governors of St Joseph’s RC Primary School are seeking applications for a Part-time (0.4) Year 1 class teacher to cover a maternity leave from September 2020 until December 2020. Applicants must be highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed teachers.

The successful candidate will have experience and training across the primary phases. They will have a clear understanding of effective practice and be committed to maintaining exceptionally high standards of teaching and learning.

The post is within one of our two Year 1 classes, two days a week, within a close-knit team of experienced and hardworking staff. They will be warmly welcomed in to an environment where continuous provision is at the core of the children’s learning and so an understanding of this way of working is desirable.

We are looking for someone who:
• Is committed to upholding and promoting the unique ethos of our Catholic school
• Is an excellent classroom practitioner, with a clear understanding of teaching, learning and assessment and high expectations of pupils’ achievement and behaviour
• Is able to ensure excellence and enjoyment for all children through creative, interesting and engaging teaching and learning experiences
• Is self-motivated and able to work cooperatively as part of a team
• Has a strong commitment to their own learning and professional development
