The Governing Body at Springside School are seeking to appoint 3 suitably qualified, enthusiastic and experienced individuals into the role of Teaching Assistant Level 1 (+)

The successful candidates will be working directly with pupils with complex additional educational needs, across all phases of our school; Nursery – Year 6. Applicants must have significant experience of working as part of a team to meet the needs of learners with additional needs.

We believe in supporting our learners to be independent, to enjoy every element of their lives, to achieve more than they can imagine. We work with our learners to be as independent as they can be to ensure they have a feeling of self-worth.

We have a professional learning culture in which we utilise the latest research, experience of our existing excellent staff, internal and external CPDL to ensure we are constantly reflecting on our practice and enhancing our provision. We support our staff to seek to develop themselves on an ongoing basis.

Applicants must possess or be willing to work towards GCSE English and Maths at grade A* - C, or GCSE level 4 -9, or GCSE level 4-9 or a level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or CSE Grade 1 in English and Maths.

Applicants must also possess or be willing to work towards a Level 2 qualification QCF (or NVQ prior to 2010) in Teaching and Learning.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement of this post.

Springside is a new-build special school co-located with a mainstream primary school.

The appointment is expected to start on or around 1st November 2021.
