An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Social Worker within the Complex Safeguarding Team based at Rochdale Police Station; this is a permanent full time position.

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and skilled Social Worker in engaging young people through a child centred approach, with professional knowledge and expertise in managing complex safeguarding issues.

 

The Complex Safeguarding Team is a multi-agency team (made up of social workers, Police, Health and parenting support) focused on tackling child sexual exploitation (CSE) and child criminal exploitation (CCE) in Rochdale. The team uses innovative ways in engaging young people, including a research based ACT (Achieving Change Together) model which focuses on young people’s strengths and ambitions.

 

Key Tasks of role:

 

Assessing and understanding the needs of children and young people who are at risk of child criminal and/or child criminal exploitation or are being exploited; ensuring that they are safeguarded and protected.

 

Working in new ways and using new tools and frameworks to get the best out of young people and their family/carers.

 

Creating and providing bespoke direct work sessions and intervention plans

 

Working as part of a multi-agency team; establishing and developing collaborative working relationships with other agencies and services to ensure effective service intervention and delivery.

 

Contributing to a multi-agency response in tackling CSE and CCE – prevention, protection, prosecution and building public and professional confidence.
