Salary:  £32,878 to £38,813

Grade: 8

Working Hours:   37 hours per week

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual with experience of working in a regulatory environment with sound knowledge of the full range of trading standards legislation.

 

Trading Standards Service sits within the Neighbourhoods Directorate and together with Environmental Health and licensing forms part of the Council’s Public Protection Team.

 

Based within the Trading Standards team, you will undertake a lead officer role in the team, assisting the Trading Standards Operational Manager in the day to day supervision of workloads and activities including Age Restricted Products, Doorstep Crime, Product Safety, Metrology, Informal Economy, Unfair Commercial Practices, Food Standards, Animal Feed, Animal Health and Animal Welfare.

 

You will lead on complex matters and investigations and provide team members with guidance / interpretation of legislation. You will support, motivate and act as a positive role model for team members and act as Deputy Chief Inspector of Weights and Measures.

 

You will need the relevant formal qualification (DTS, DCA) or relevant training qualification and experience giving an equivalent level of skill knowledge and expertise.

 

This is a great opportunity to work in a busy local authority team with a wide variety of functions.
