We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, hands on outstanding Group Supervisor to join our team at “Fresh Kitchen” and oversee the running of the lovely school kitchen based in St Joseph’s RC Primary school, catering for approximately 250 pupils per day and staff.

 

The Group Supervisor will be passionate about creating fabulous food and going that extra mile to deliver exceptional customer service to our pupils, staff and be able to liaise professionally with our clients; whilst also taking responsibility at unit level for all daily tasks, and who will work in partnership to move our service forward with our catering rebranding.

 

Our Group Supervisor should:

 

·         Be responsible at unit level in ensuring a high quality Education Catering Service is provided.

·         Possess excellent culinary skills and be passionate about producing great quality meals while driving 
         our new brand forward.

·         Be enthusiastic and have an innovative approach.

·         Be able to manage, train, develop and motivate a team.

·         Be interested in feeding the minds of the future and educating the next generation about food.

·         Have excellent kitchen management abilities

·         Ensure you and the team have high standards of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety

·         Have knowledge of dietary requirements and allergens

·         Have excellent communication and organisational skills

 

Key Requirements are:

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

 

·         Be prepared to have an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

·         Have Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. NVQ Level 2 – Catering or City Guilds – Catering, and have or be
         willing to study for and obtain Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.

·         Experience in an industrial catering environment of all aspects of service delivery, ordering, preparation,
         production and meal service.

Rochdale Borough Council has member approval to implement a proposal to guarantee an interview from ex-service personnel applicants where they meet certain qualifying criteria.

The aim of this proposal is to deliver the Council’s commitment to further ‘the Armed Forces Community Covenant’ to ensure that ex-armed forces personnel are not disadvantaged, when applying for job vacancies, as a result of their service. 

 

Ex-service personnel will be guaranteed an interview under the Scheme where they meet the following conditions:

They must meet the essential criteria for the post set out within the Person Specification.

The armed forces must be their last known long term employer.
