Salary:  £8.45 per hour (Local Living Wage)                                    

Grade:  1                                           

Working Hours: As and when required

Contract Type:  Casual

Facilities Management is looking to recruit conscientious and reliable staff to join our friendly team of casual cleaners to work in our Schools and Public Buildings throughout the Borough. (Rochdale, Middleton, Heywood and Littleborough).

 

Hours are usually dependent on the units – and can vary anything from 6am-9pm including weekends.

 

General cleaning duties to include: vacuuming, brush sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, buffing, and toilet cleaning.

 

Experience is desirable but full training will be given.

 

Appointment to this post is subject to enhanced DBS and background checks.

 

Health and safety regulations must be strictly adhered to.

 

To be eligible to apply for this post you must be a Rochdale Resident who lives within the municipal boundaries of the Borough of Rochdale.

ARMED FORCES INTERVIEW SCHEME

 

Rochdale Borough Council has Member approval to implement a proposal to guarantee an interview from ex-service personnel applicants where they meet certain qualifying criteria.

 

The aim of this proposal is to deliver the Council’s commitment to further ‘the Armed Forces Community Covenant’ to ensure that ex-armed forces personnel are not disadvantaged, when applying for job vacancies, as a result of their service. 

 

Ex-service personnel will be guaranteed an interview under the Scheme where they meet the following conditions:

They must meet the essential criteria for the post set out within the Person Specification.

The armed forces must be their last known long term employer. 

They have been looking for a job for between 6-24 months since they left the Armed Forces.
