Job Title:  Estate Worker (Caretaker)

 

Location:  Rochdale Schools Contract

 

Hours:  40 hours p.w

 

Wage/Salary:  Up to £8.50 p.h / £17,680 p.a, depending on suitability & experience

                                               

Responsible to:  Site Supervisor 

 

Responsible for:  

- Own working practice

- Estate Worker and cleaning staff within the site

- Liaison with all other Facilities staff, customers and suppliers


Job Summary:
   

- To carry out, assist with or control all maintenance, porterage, security and cleaning
activities on the site

 

A vacancy has arisen within GFM Ltd for an Estate Worker/Caretaker, on their Rochdale Schools contract at Oulder Hill Community School, Hudsons, Rochdale, OL11 5EF. You will be expected to work 40 hours per week, including the early shift (06:00-14:30) and the late shift (10:30-19:00), on a rotational week-by-week basis. However, some flexibility will be required in order to cover School late sessions.

 

The successful applicant must:-

·  Have a working knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
·  Have good verbal communication with individuals at all levels
·  Be able to prioritise and self-manage their workload
·  Be assertive, confident and level headed when dealing with people at all levels
·  Have an ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
·  Be flexible and able to work on their own initiative
·  Have excellent team working skills
·  Be methodical and well-organised
·  Experience in maintenance/caretaking/facilities management

 

In addition, it would be beneficial, but not essential, to:-

·  Hold a formal trade qualification or equivalent
·  Have experience of working within a PFI/School environment
·  Be familiar with service level agreements
·  Hold a full clean driving licence
