The Schools HR Service is a highly regarded HR consultancy service who provides HR advice and guidance to Headteachers, Principals, Senior Leadership Team members and Governing Boards in relation to all staff employed in schools in the Rochdale Borough. We also have external third party contracts including providing consultancy services to Academies. We are looking to recruit a Schools HR Officer to increase the capacity within the team.

 

Knowledge of employee relations issues is essential as you will be required to provide advice, guidance and casework support across the whole range of the HR function including discipline, grievance, TUPE, absence and wellbeing, capability, dismissals, redundancy and advising on terms and conditions of employment. You will also work closely with the Trade Unions and Professional Associations. 

 

You must be an Associate Member of the CIPD and have significant experience of providing support with case management. It is essential that you are well organised with the ability to manage your own workload and able to work in a fast paced environment, meeting tight and often conflicting deadlines whilst ensuring attention to detail. You must also possess high quality communication skills with the ability to handle conflict situations and experience of interpreting legislation, development and delivery of training/development events on HR matters and advising on HR projects.

 

Applicants should be aware of the requirement to travel within the borough and be available to attend Governing Board meetings and deliver training out of hours during the evenings and weekend.

 

This is a fixed term contract linked to specific funding to increase capacity within the team until 31 March 2019. For RBC employees approval for secondment should be obtained from your Service Director (or nominated representative) or Head Teacher before applying for this post.
