Grade:  Soulbury Scale 3-7, Educational Psychologies Scale A                                         

Working Hours:  37 hours per week.  Part time/job share requests will be considered

Due to increasing demand for our service from schools and other LA agencies, the Educational Psychology team in Rochdale is expanding. This is an exciting opportunity for a Maingrade EP to join our friendly, innovative team. Central to our consultative practice is a strong commitment to social constructionist psychology.

 

In Rochdale we can offer:

 

-Regular peer and group supervision and on-going opportunities to reflect on and develop practice in this area as part of the team.

 

-Regular CPD opportunities to develop a range of skills and pursue areas of interest and/or specialisms, including project work and research

 

-Opportunities to develop a wide range of evidence-based intervention and training packages through our partially traded services model. Existing packages include Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, The Baby Room Project,  Developing early communication in young children with ASC, Dyslexia Network, Autism Champions, Test Anxiety, Mediated Learning and a Nurture Group Network.

 

- Flexible working at home arrangements

 

- Administrative support and access to ICT equipment and support

 

- The opportunity to use psychology in a pro-active and positive way to make a real difference to young people and families

 

Applicants for the Maingrade post are required to have a psychology degree, professional qualification in Educational Psychology (3rd year trainees are also welcome to apply for a September 2018 start) and registration with the HCPC.

ARMED FORCES INTERVIEW SCHEME

 

Rochdale Borough Council has member approval to implement a proposal to guarantee an interview from ex-service personnel applicants where they meet certain qualifying criteria.

 

The aim of this proposal is to deliver the Council’s commitment to further ‘the Armed Forces Community Covenant’ to ensure that ex-armed forces personnel are not disadvantaged, when applying for job vacancies, as a result of their service. 

 

Ex-service personnel will be guaranteed an interview under the Scheme where they meet the following conditions:

They must meet the essential criteria for the post set out within the Person Specification.

The armed forces must be their last known long term employer. 

They have been looking for a job for between 6-24 months since they left the Armed Forces.
