Children’s Services are now in a position to recruit an enthusiastic, hard working person to be part of Children’s Services Business Support.  This is an interesting and challenging post providing administrative support to Children’s Social Care Managers and operational staff.

 

The successful candidate will support the team to carry out administrative duties with a main focus of attending meetings and taking minutes.  You will be able to take minutes to a high standard in a formal setting, the subject matter of which can be challenging.

 

This is a busy role that requires someone who can demonstrate that they are highly motivated and organised and who can work as part of a team or on their own initiative.

This is a temporary contract for approximately 6 months to cover the secondment of the substantive postholder

Support for Armed Forces

ARMED FORCES INTERVIEW SCHEME

 

Rochdale Borough Council has Member approval to implement a proposal to guarantee an interview from ex-service personnel applicants where they meet certain qualifying criteria.

 

The aim of this proposal is to deliver the Council’s commitment to further ‘the Armed Forces Community Covenant’ to ensure that ex-armed forces personnel are not disadvantaged, when applying for job vacancies, as a result of their service. 

 

Ex-service personnel will be guaranteed an interview under the Scheme where they meet the following conditions:

They must meet the essential criteria for the post set out within the Person Specification.

The armed forces must be their last known long term employer. 

They have been looking for a job for between 6-24 months since they left the Armed Forces.
