Salary:  £20,456 to £22,434 pro rata

Grade:  5

Working Pattern:  Wednesday pm, all day Thursday and Friday

Working Hours:  18 ½

Contract Type:  Job share, permanent

We are seeking to appoint a Governor Support Officer who will support the schools and academies within the Borough by providing a high quality clerking service. The successful candidate will provide advice and guidance to individual governors and Governing Boards on governance legislation and procedural matters and act as the first point of contact for governors with queries.

 

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:
·         To have a proven track record in producing accurate, clear and concise minutes/records of meetings
·         To be able to work methodically, prioritising your workload, whilst providing attention to detail and  
          meeting deadlines
·         Experience of communicating effectively with a wide range of people
·         To demonstrate high level administration and organisation skills
·         To be flexible to meet the special requirements for this post including being available to work several 
          evenings a week during peak school term time

This is a job share role working 0.5 FTE – Wednesday pm, Thursday and Friday.

Support for Armed Forces

ARMED FORCES INTERVIEW SCHEME

Rochdale Borough Council has Member approval to implement a proposal to guarantee an interview from ex-service personnel applicants where they meet certain qualifying criteria.

 

The aim of this proposal is to deliver the Councils commitment to further ‘the Armed Forces Community Covenant’ to ensure that ex-armed forces personnel are not disadvantaged, when applying for job vacancies, as a result of their service. 

Ex-service personnel will be guaranteed an interview under the Scheme where they meet the following conditions:

They must meet the essential criteria for the post set out within the Person Specification.

The armed forces must be their last known long term employer. 

They have been looking for a job for between 6-24 months since they left the Armed Forces.
