Location:  Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale, OL16 1XU                                      

Salary: £9000 PA for first 12 months then NMW for following 6 months

Grade: Apprentice grade                                            

Working Hours:  37 flexible working hours in accordance with the needs of the service.                

Contract Type:  18 month apprenticeship                            

Closing Date: 3rd September 10am          

Interview Date: Week commencing 10th September – day TBC

                                                                   

To be eligible to apply for this Apprenticeship vacancy you must hold a minimum of 4 GCSE’s at grade C / 4 (or equivalent) or above, including English and maths.

 

Rochdale Council’s Revenues & Benefits Team are looking to recruit two apprentices. One apprentice will be assigned to the Benefits Team and will assist with the administration and assessment of claims received by the service, for Free School meals, Blue Badges, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support and Discretionary Awards. One apprentice will assist with the administration of financial assessments for residential and non-residential care services. 

 

Desired skills

Experience of using computers either at home, work, college or school to be able to produce letters, emails and other documents to a high standard

Experience of using computers either at home, work, college or school to use spreadsheets and databases

Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing

Ability to work as part of a team

Committed to acquiring new skills relevant to the post and attendance on relevant training courses

Experience of dealing with members of the public

Ability to work some evenings or early mornings to support members of the team

Things to consider

£9000.00 per annum training allowance for the first 12 months and then national minimum wage for the remaining 6 months.
